The Shadow of the Wind [Pgs 81-102]

This particular chunk contains mostly details on friendships between Daniel and others, as well as new findings leading to insight on Carax. Now that Daniel no longer cares for Clara, or tries not to care, he devotes the majority of his time to investigating Carax and Coulbert, the man responsible for the burning of Carax's books. With the remainder of his time, Daniel manages to repair and/or form new friendships. Daniel is no longer in a fix with his father, and has once again become good friends with Tomas. However, with the addition of Daniels new found friend, Fermin Romero de Torres, an ex CIA agent, Tomas and Daniel begin to grow apart once more. Nevertheless, the ex CIA agent becomes a significant attribute to the search on Carax, as he helps Daniel find that Carax has living relatives nearby.
*How significant do you think Fermin will be to the investigation of Carax in the future

yea this chunk was pretty spontaneous..who would have figured that a blind pianist would end up being seduced by her piano instructor..
as for Fermin Romero de Torres..I find it strange that a CIA agent would be roaming the streets because of one person.
